WHAT TO EXPECT
on the day of your
HOLY BAPTISM
In order to make this special day a very memorable one, here are a few things to help everything run as smoothly as possible.
We ask that all candidates for baptism, their families and their Godparents please arrive 30 minutes before the worship service for the Pre-Baptism Orientation. During this orientation, you will meet with a priest who will give you instructions on how the ceremony will proceed, and explain your role during baptism (what to do and when to do it).
The candidates, their families, and the Godparents are asked to sit on the pulpit side of the church in the front pews (on the right-hand side as you face the altar). If you are not sure where to sit, just ask one of the ushers and they will be more than happy to assist you.
Regarding attire for the baptism candidates, unless you are having a complete immersion, your regular church attire is fine. (If you opt for a total immersion, please be mindful not to wear light clothing as it may reveal undergarments when wet.)
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact the office and we will be happy to assist you.
